Interesting thoughts here. Are you confident this is the correct way to look at it though? My personal experience is that everyone should pretty much live and let live because what one person observes as just -- another person simply does not. People are going to do what they want to do. In the end, they always do. The most we can hope for is to highlight a few things here and there that hopefully, allows them to make just a little better informed decision. Otherwise, great post. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. I might warning you with regard towards the use with the stain. Probably a heavy shellac (an amber or garnet) may do the trick? Or, a blonde shellac and then a glaze around the top of it with a tinted varnish of some sort if you need something darker? You are going to want to preserve the ability to see the figure of your top, so may well not need the stain right in the pores from the wood…

I must say, as much as I enjoyed reading what you had to say, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while.  Its as if you had a great grasp on the subject matter, but you forgot to include your readers.  Perhaps you should think about this from more than one angle.  Or maybe you shouldnt generalise so much.  Its better if you think about what others may have to say instead of just going for a gut reaction to the subject.  Think about adjusting your own thought process and giving others who may read this the benefit of the doubt.
